Dordogne Cycle Hire can deliver bikes to the start of two of the beautiful ‘Voie Vertes’ in the area. These tracks follow disused railway tracks and have been converted into traffic-free byways -great for families of all ages. They are predominantly flat and offer a unique way to spend a tranquil day sight-seeing.
We will meet you at the starting point with your bikes and arrange to collect them at your convenience back at the starting point.
We will provide you with directions to the Voie Verte at the time of booking.
This voie-verte runs through countryside along a tree-lined by-way (providing shade from the sun, and shelter from the occasional summer storm!).
A 5 minute detour will take you into the beautiful village of St Jean De Cole one of France’s ‘Plus Beau Villages’ with its medieval castle, 3 wonderful restaurants and traffic-free central square.
St Jean de Cole also has a guided tour of the village organized by the Tourist office at 11:00 most mornings - For more information call 05 53 62 14 15 – or let us arrange for you to join in.
Milhac has a handy café/boulangerie which sells pizzas and snacks, and St Pardoux also has a variety of eateries (including the very traditional Hotel de France which offers a variety of meals) For more details see http://www.hotel-de-france-cibot.com/.
There is also a beautiful picnic spot by the river at Saint Pardoux-la-Riviere.
